Preaching Moment 345: Michael Brown on Preaching Paul

The Apostle Paul’s writing in 1 Corinthians is discomforting to the Rev. Michael Brown in part because it somehow deals with a pastor who is angry at the people.

Paul is addressing those whom he believes are morally bankrupt, ornery, split and confused. As a minister, it is difficult to read Corinthians because it is real, different from the positivity that Paul had shown toward the Philippians.

Brown adds, “It resonates so much with what I have gone through in some moments and in some places, and with what I have put good church folks through in other moments and other places.”
