What if gratitude had steps?

Karoline Lewis breaks down the powerful posture of thanksgiving from this Sunday’s Gospel text. Standing on the steps of Bockman Hall at Luther Seminary, she reveals the five deliberate steps the healed person took to thank Jesus:

1. He SAW what happened

2. He TURNED BACK

3. He PRAISED with a loud voice

4. He FELL on his face

5. He KEPT THANKING (present tense!)

This isn’t just about having an “attitude of gratitude” – it’s about intentional, embodied thanksgiving for what Christ has done.

Which step challenges you most today?
