Comentario del San Lucas 13:31-35

Nos encontramos con Jesús subiendo a Jerusalén; su pasión está cerca.

La composición lucana nos presenta, de forma única, a los fariseos advirtiendo a Jesús sobre Herodes Antipas y sus intenciones, y la respuesta de Jesús (vv.31-33). Pero también Lucas nos ofrece lo que se llama el apóstrofe a Jerusalén (vv.34-35), que encontramos de forma muy parecida en Mt 23:37-39.

Sentimientos de una amenaza inminente hacia Jesús, así como su firme determinación de subir a Jerusalén, se combinarán con cierto desencanto de Jesús, todo manifestado en un juicio profético hacia Jerusalén. La muerte se constituye en uno de los hilos conductores para la lectura de esta perícopa, así como una cierta ternura que se expresa en la hermosa metáfora que toma Jesús del Antiguo Testamento, ¡cuántas veces quise juntar a tus hijos, así como la gallina a sus polluelos  debajo de sus alas, pero no quisiste! (v.34).
