Biography

Casey Thornburgh Sigmon is Assistant Professor in Preaching and Worship and Director of Contextual Education for Saint Paul School of Theology in Leawood, Kan. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a PhD in Homiletics and Liturgics in May 2017. Her dissertation, Engaging the Gadfly: A Process Homilecclesiology for a Digital Age, explores the practice of preaching beyond the pulpit and the pew, even beyond the Sunday morning service.

Dr. Sigmon is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She also teaches in the Course of Study for the United Methodist Church.
