Comentario del San Juan 20:19-31

Esta sección del evangelio de Juan nos coloca frente a las reacciones de los discípulos ante el testimonio de la resurrección que da María Magdalena.

El relato coloca algunos elementos que nos permiten palpar el trauma y el drama que viven como grupo. Al mismo tiempo es el desenlace después del anuncio de María Magdalena y nos presenta la tradición de las apariciones de Jesús a sus discípulos, a quienes ahora llama “hermanos” (Jn 20:17), en dos momentos que nos permiten profundizar en algunos elementos teológicos determinantes para Juan, y que nos abren la posibilidad de reinterpretarlos hoy, a la luz de nuestras propias experiencias y contextos.

Los exegetas Mateos y Barreto1 han delimitado esta perícopa en tres partes: “La Nueva Pascua: Creación de la Comunidad Mesiánica” (vv.19-23); “Tomás: La Fe de los que No Hayan Visto” (vv.24-29); y los versos del 30 al 31, como un “Colofón de la Vida de Jesús.” Haremos uso de esta estructura para comentar el texto, porque varios elementos en la perícopa anterior ...
