Biography
Walter Brueggemann is professor emeritus of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Ga., where he served from 1986 until 2003. He also served as president of the Society of Biblical Literature.
Brueggemann has written several books on Old Testament theology and lectured at universities and seminaries across the country and around the world. His most recent books include Prayers for a Privileged People (2008), The Word Militant: Preaching a Decentering Word (2007), Mandate to Difference: An Invitation to the Contemporary Church (2007), and The Theology of the Book of Jeremiah (2007).
