Biography

Tom Teichmann is pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Amherst, New Hampshire. He earned a B.A. in Sociology from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and an M. Div. from Gettysburg Seminary, graduating with honors in  Christian education. He was ordained in 1998 and served a church in Maine for nine years prior to being called to Messiah.

Before attending seminary Tom worked at  Lutheran camps in North Carolina, New York and Georgia. He has written articles for “The Lutheran Handbook II” (Augsburg Fortress) as well as for Here We Stand confirmation curriculum, the Akaloo Sunday School curriculum, and an Augsburg Adult Bible study on 1st Peter.

Tom has been married to Lisa for 30 years. Lisa is the proprietor of a “long arm” machine quilting service, which finishes quilters’ UFOs (unfinished objects). Their son Erik, a web and graphic designer, is married to Sarah, who is also a Lutheran pastor. They live in Ohio.
