Rev. Dr. Surekha Nelavala graduated with a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies, NT, from Drew University, N.J., and is presently serving as an adjunct faculty at United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg + Philadelphia. She is an ordained Lutheran minister from India and rostered in the ELCA. Her teaching interests are in Biblical hermeneutics and integrated courses of cultural studies, feminist studies and postcolonial studies. She is committed to the cause of bringing scholarship and people together in developing praxis-oriented liberating hermeneutics of the Bible. Previously, Nelavala taught in Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute, Chennai, India.
