Shelly Matthews is Professor of New Testament at Brite Divinity School, Fort Worth, Texas. She is an ordained United Methodist Clergy (Dakotas Area), and pastored churches in rural North Dakota before entering graduate school at the Harvard Divinity School. Her published work focuses on the book of Acts, feminist biblical criticism, and early Jewish-Christian relations. Her current scholarship focuses on early Christian ideas about the resurrection of the flesh.
