Samuel D. Giere is Associate Professor of Homiletics and Biblical Interpretation at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.  He is an ordained Lutheran (ELCA) pastor who has served congregations in North Dakota.  He has a Ph.D. in Old Testament at St. Mary’s College, the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and is the creator of the web-based resource, www.withearstohear.org, a resource for those who listen to Christian preaching.
