Robert Beck is a Professor Emeritus of Loras College and Chaplain of the Franciscan Sisters Motherhouse, both in Dubuque, Iowa. He is a co-founder of the Catholic Worker in Dubuque and composer of a musical based on Mark’s Gospel. His most recent books are Jesus and His Enemies: Narrative Conflict Resolution in the Four Gospels (Orbis, 2017) and A Light to the Centurions: Reading Luke-Acts in the Empire (Wipf & Stock, 2019).
