Biography

Nancy deClaissé-Walford is professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia.  She is the author of four books:  Reading from the Beginning:  The Shaping of the Hebrew Psalter; Biblical Hebrew:  An Introductory Textbook; Introduction to the Psalms:  A Song from Ancient Israel; and The Book of Psalms, in the New International Commentary on the Old Testament series, and she has published numerous chapters in books and journal articles.  Her specialities are Psalms and Wisdom Literature and Semitic Languages, and she is an active member of the Book of Psalms Section of the Society of Biblical Literature.  For the past ten years, she has served as Managing Editor of the journal, Review & Expositor She and her husband Stephen live just outside Atlanta with their two children, a gorgeous grandson, three dogs, and an iguana.
