Biography

Micah D. Kiel is Associate Professor and Chair in the Theology Department at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.  He received a B.A. in Music Performance from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., and the M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary. 

His first book is The Whole Truth: Rethinking Retribution in the Book of Tobit (T&T Clark, 2014). Other publications include articles in the Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha and the Catholic Biblical Quarterly.  His dissertation and research focus on the Book of Tobit.

In Fall 2015 he is a resident scholar at the Collegeville Institute, working on a project relating the book of Revelation to ecological concerns. Other interests include Jewish intertestamental literature, the Gospel of Mark, and Biblical Theology.  As a Roman Catholic, Micah has spoken at many churches and diocesan functions in his diocese.
