Melissa Ramos is Associate Professor of Old Testament at Portland Seminary of George Fox University and an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Dr. Ramos has a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from UCLA and her publications include Ritual in Deuteronomy: The Performance of Doom (Routledge, 2021) and New Perspectives on Ritual in the Biblical World (Bloomsbury, 2022). Dr. Ramos’s research focuses on ritual studies in the Old Testament, Deuteronomy, curses and blessings in the Hebrew Bible, and women’s interpretive readings of Scripture.
