Mark Allan Powell is Professor of New Testament at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, and is the author of more than twenty books, including What Do They Hear? Bridging the Gap Between Pulpit and Pew (Abingdon Press, 2007). He has served as Chair of the Matthew Group for the Society of Biblical Literature and is also the author of God With Us: A Pastoral Theology of Matthew’s Gospel (Fortress Press, 1995).
