Biography
Dr. Joel B. Kemp is an Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. Dr. Kemp’s work focuses primarily on the biblical prophets, as well as the reception history of biblical texts as it relates to the construction of race in America.
In addition to his academic service, Dr. Kemp is licensed as a minister in the American Baptist Churches and regularly leads Bible Studies, preaches, and provides educational resources for ministers and laity looking to develop a deeper understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures.
