James Hanson is Associate Professor of Religion at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. His teaching and scholarly interests revolve around the Synoptic Gospels — especially Mark — Paul’s life and letters, and the oral interpretation of New Testament texts. He’s the author of The Endangered Promises: Conflict in Mark (Society of Biblical Literature, 2000), several articles, and most recently wrote a solo play about the Apostle Paul, which he continues to perform.
