Elna K. Solvang is Professor of Religion at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.  Her publications have focused on royal women, including A Woman’s Place is in the House: Royal Women of Judah and their Involvement in the House of David (Sheffield Press, 2003), entries in the New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible, and “Biblical Royal Mothers” for the Bible Odyssey website. She prepared the study notes on Esther for The Lutheran Study Bible (Augsburg Fortress, 2009).
