David von Schlichten is the pastor of Saint James Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Youngstown, PA. His recently published book is Words Fitly Spoken: Biblical Guidance for More Powerful Preaching (CSS, 2008), which grew out of his Doctor of Ministry project. David is working on a Ph.D. in English and serves as both the book review editor for Lutheran Partners magazine and lectionary blog moderator for “Homiletical Hot Tub”.
