Biography
David E. Fredrickson is Professor of New Testament at Luther Seminary where he has been teaching since 1987. He is a graduate of Carleton College and holds advanced degrees from Luther Seminary and Yale University. An ordained pastor of the ELCA, his research and writing interests in the Pauline Epistles led him into ancient Greek philosophy and poetry.
He has published several articles, including: “Human Sexuality and the Christian Faith,” (Augsburg Fortress, 1993); “Three Objections to Hamerton — Kelly’s Interpretation of the Pauline Epistles,” dialog, 32 (1993); “Free Speech in Pauline Political Theology,” Word & World, 12 (1992); “Reading the New Testament,” Augsburg Home Bible Study Series, Dec. 1992; and “Pentecost: Paul the Pastor in 2 Corinthians,” Word & World, 11 (1991).
