David Ourisman is a retired United Methodist pastor and member of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference. He served congregations in New Jersey (1976-1992) and in San Francisco (2004-2005). His Ph.D. work at the Graduate Theological Union focused on narrative readings of the gospels and crafting sermons shaped by that literary approach. He is the author of One Life, Four Stories: Invitations to Faith & Wonder (Berry Powell Press, 2026) and From Gospel to Sermon: Preaching Synoptic Texts (Chalice, 2000).

He resides in Asheville, NC.
