Biography

Dirk G. Lange serves as Associate Dean of Graduate Theological Education and Fredrik A. Schiotz Chair of Missions and Professor of Worship at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minn. An ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, he received his Ph.D. in theology from Emory University. Working in the area of constructive liturgical theology, Lange re-reads classic theological texts through the lens of liturgy, trauma theory and post-structuralist literary theory. He is currently Project Officer for the Joint Lutheran-Catholic Commemoration of the Reformation and the primary author of the Common Prayer (the liturgy to be used at the Commemoration). The Joint Commemoration takes place in the Lund Cathedral on October 31, 2016, with the participation of Pope Francis.
